Joreintje Mackenbach is an associate professor investigating the association between food environments, food choices and diet-related
chronic disease risk, and how political and commercial drivers shape our food environment.
Joreintje is currently leading a Vidi
project on the commercial and political determinants of obesity. She is further involved in research projects on the exposome
(EXPANSE and Exposome-NL), obesity prevention (OBCT and MetaHealth) and research dissemination (Landelijk
Netwerk Gezond Leven in een Gezonde Omgeving). Joreintje is Program Leader of the Health Behaviors
& Chronic Diseases research program and serves as associate editor at Health & Place.
